L1TD1 - a prognostic marker for colon cancer
BMC Cancer Jul 30, 2019
Chakroborty D, et al. - Researchers focused on the possible prognostic role of the interactome of LINE-1 type transposase domain containing 1 (L1TD1) in colon cancer patients. They used three independent colon cancer microarray gene expression data sets (N = 1052) to extract and analyze gene expression data. Also, they carried out a survival analysis for the three data sets, stratified by L1TD1 expression level. Longer disease-free survival was predicted by an increased expression of L1TD1 in colon cancer patients, showing its role as a prognostic marker in colon cancer. These findings were in contrast to an earlier investigation on medulloblastom, wherein a link was reported between high expression of L1TD1 and poor prognosis. A co-expression of L1TD1 with its interaction partners was observed in medulloblastoma, which was missing in colon cancer in this study.
