Tan Y, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was performed of the safety and short-term efficacy of the 2 approaches [Per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM): Anterior and posterior myotomy] for treating achalasia. Data did not illustrate any notable variation between the 2 groups with regard to the general characteristics, treatment success, pre- and postoperative esophageal manometry, Eckardt score, and adverse events.
