Efficacy and safety of apatinib combined with chemotherapy for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer in the Chinese population: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Cheng HG, et al. - In the treatment of patients with advanced gastric cancer (GC), authors assessed the effectiveness and safety of the combination of apatinib targeted therapy and chemotherapy (CT). Findings suggested a greater efficacy of the combination of apatinib targeted therapy and CT for GC treatment vs CT alone. Nonetheless, greater rates of hypertension, albuminuria, and hand-foot syndrome were seen with this combined treatment. Before treatment, the benefits and risks should be considered.
