Effects of exposure to anti-vaping public service announcements among current smokers and dual users of cigarettes and electronic nicotine delivery systems

Tan ASL, et al. - This study examined benefits and unintended effects of anti-vaping public service announcements (PSAs) with vapor portrayals on smoking and vaping-related outcomes. Anti-vaping PSAs with vapor led to a reduction in smokers’ intentions to vape and purchase electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS). A reduction in smokers’ intentions to smoke and purchase cigarettes were also noted in association with PSAs with vapor. No unintended effects on smoking-related outcomes were observed in correlation with PSAs with vapor.
