Effect of short-term blood pressure variability on functional outcome after intra-arterial treatment in acute stroke patients with large-vessel occlusion
BMC Neurology Oct 05, 2019
Zhang T, Wang X, Wen C, et al. - Among 72 large-vessel occlusion (LVO) patients, researchers explored the connection between post endovascular treatment (EVT) short-term blood pressure variability and early outcomes. Between June 2015 and June 2018, LVO patients undergoing EVT were retrospectively reviewed. According to results, the median National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT scores on admission were 14 and 8, respectively, for 58.3% of patients with favorable outcomes. Following intra-arterial therapies, a reduction in systolic SV results in beneficial results at 3 months. In patients with LVO, Systolic SV can be a novel predictor of functional prognosis.
