Tomasevic D, et al. - This study was performed in a prospective cohort of reperfused ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients to examine the frequency and impact of an optimal therapy upon discharge according to current international guidelines on 1-year all-cause mortality. In patients with STEMI discharged alive from hospital, an independent association of optimal secondary prevention therapy with lower 1-year mortality was evident.
