Effect of intravitreal ranibizumab on serous retinal detachment in branch retinal vein occlusion
Clinical Ophthalmology Aug 24, 2018
Dogan E, et al. - Authors assessed the impact of initial intravitreal ranibizumab injection on visual acuity (VA) and central macular thickness (CMT) for the treatment of macular edema (ME) with and without serous retinal detachment (SRD) secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). In BRVO patients with and without SRD, intravitreal ranibizumab injection could improve the VA and CMT. Nonetheless, compared to those without SRD, more marked improvement in macular morphology was achieved in patients with SRD. After intravitreal ranibizumab injection, better anatomic results and greater reduction of CMT were revealed by the eyes with SRD.
