Seker A, et al. - This study assessed 24-h blood pressure difference among fasting and nonfasting individuals, during Ramadan, with no previous history of hypertension. In fasting patients, a rise in systolic blood pressure was observed in measurements at 18:00, 19:00, and 20:00 h. At the time of iftar, more than 10% increase in blood pressure was regarded crucial in terms of the meal preferences of the individuals under risk.
