Effect of egg consumption on blood pressure: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials

Current Hypertension Reports Mar 07, 2020

Kolahdouz-Mohammadi R, Malekahmadi M, Clayton ZS, et al. - In the present study, the researchers sought to identify and quantify the outcomes of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that have evaluated the effect of egg consumption on blood pressure in adults. Fifteen RCTs were involved with a total of 748 candidates. According to the findings, the consumption of eggs does not have any significant effects on adult systolic and diastolic blood pressure. General conclusions about the beneficial or neutral effect of egg consumption on blood pressure in adults can not be drawn due to several limitations among existing studies.
