Effect of Acupuncture on atrial fibrillation stratified by CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc score-A nationwide cohort investigation
QJM: An International Journal of Medicine May 28, 2021
Hu WS, Lin CL, Hsu CY, et al. - This study intended to make statements regarding the reduction in atrial fibrillation (AF) risk due to acupuncture, stratified by CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc Score. Researchers conducted the Kaplan-Meier method to estimate the cumulative incidence of outcomes for each group, and differences between groups were compared by performing a log-rank test. Univariate Cox proportional hazards models were used to calculate incidences and hazard ratios, and adjusted hazard ratios were calculated by multivariate Cox proportional hazards models including demographic covariates and comorbid status. The study found a protective effect of acupuncture on AF in a relatively dose-dependent manner.
