Dynamics of allergy development during the first 5 years of life
European Journal of Pediatrics Jun 29, 2018
Vrbova M, et al. - This research investigated the dynamics of allergy development during the first 5 years of life in a cohort of Slovak children followed from birth to early childhood. Information on allergic symptoms and food allergies among children were based on clinical evaluation of children by allergists at three developmental stages (infant, toddler, preschool). It was observed that the proportion of multi-symptom allergies increased while single-symptom forms decreased. Data reported that the observed temporal trends of allergic symptoms correspond to the atopic march. This investigation also identified several combinations of atopic symptoms in addition to single-symptom allergic diseases.
