Does Parkinson disease increase the risk of cardiovascular events? A systematic review and meta-analysis

Alves M, et al. - Researchers explored the connection between Parkinson’s disease (PD) and cardiovascular events via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 studies that compared cardiovascular events between PD and control groups. Using the I2 test, heterogeneity was assessed. According to findings, PD may be associated with an increased risk of stroke. The investigators also noted that the risk of myocardial infarction and cardiovascular mortality did not differ in those with and without PD.
