Development of a screening scale for community-dwelling older adults with multiple care needs
Clinical Gerontologist Jan 30, 2020
Chen MC, et al. - Researchers intended to construct a screening scale for community-dwelling older adults with multiple care needs. For this purpose, they used a modified Delphi and invited 10 experts to assess the relevance, clarity, and appropriateness of the scale. They found that for content relevance, item clarity, and suitability of the scale, the item-level content validity index were all higher than .90, .80, and .80, respectively, in the first round of the modified Delphi, and were all 1.0 in the second round, respectively. A good fit was shown in confirmatory factor analysis. Satisfactory internal consistency reliability was reported. For a cutoff score of 6/7, the area under curve was .91, sensitivity was 88%, and specificity was 81%. Overall, adequate reliability, content validity, and discriminant validity were displayed by the screening scale.
