Decreased fetal movements: Perinatal and long-term neurological outcomes
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Sep 30, 2019
Zamstein O, et al. - Researchers conducted a single-center cohort analysis of 242,342 deliveries that occurred between the years 1991–2014, in order to examine the association of maternal complaint of decreased fetal movements with adverse perinatal outcomes. In addition, they assessed if decreased fetal movements influence long-term neurological morbidity of the offspring. The maternal complaint of decreased fetal movements accompanied 439 (0.18%) deliveries. They identified no increased rate of adverse perinatal outcome but an elevated risk for long-term neurological morbidity of the offspring in correlation with maternal complaint of decreased fetal movements.
