Cystatin C is a potential predictor of unfavorable outcomes for cerebral ischemia with IV‐tPA treatment: A multicenter prospective nested case‐control study
European Journal of Neurology Dec 11, 2020
Chang Z, Zou H, Xie Z, et al. - This study was undertaken to determine if Cystatin C could be used as a potential predictor of the clinical outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients treated by intravenous tissue plasminogen activator. The authors conducted an observational study with a retrospective analysis of data from 125 acute ischemic stroke patients with intravenous thrombolysis. Findings suggested an independent association of elevated serum Cystatin C with unfavorable clinical outcomes following intravenous tissue plasminogen activator therapy in acute ischemic stroke. The results offer new insights into identifying possible mediators for stroke treatment or neuropathological processes.
