Cumulative long-term incidence of postoperative periprosthetic femoral fractures using an uncemented tapered titanium hip stem: 26-32 year results
Journal of Arthroplasty Sep 07, 2018
Peitgen DS, et al. - Researchers assessed the long-term incidence of postoperative periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFF) after total hip arthroplasty (THA) using uncemented stems with a minimum follow-up of 26 years postoperatively. In the long-term after uncemented THA using a tapered titanium stem, findings suggested that PFF was the major mode of failure. No correlation was seen between the occurrence of fracture and gender, age at primary THA, cup revision or Canal-fill-index (CFI).
