Critical differences between subtrochanteric and diaphyseal atypical femoral fractures: Analyses of 51 cases at a single institution in Korean population
Archives of Osteoporosis May 12, 2018
Cho YJ, et al. - Authors ascertained differences between atypical subtrochanteric and diaphyseal fracture in Korean population. Significant differences between subtrochanteric and diaphyseal atypical fracture groups were seen with an angle of lateral bowing (FNSBA) and spine bone mineral density (BMD). Findings suggested that important roles could be played by femoral bowing and spine BMD in the atypical femoral fracture (AFF) locations. The demographic data (age, height, weight, and BMI), underlying diseases, laboratory findings, hip BMD, and duration of BP treatment were seen to be comparable to each other between the 2 groups.
