Corpus callosal involvement is correlated with cognitive impairment in multiple system atrophy

Hara K, et al. - In patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA), researchers analyzed the anatomical involvement related to cognitive impairment. For this investigation, 30 patients with probable MSA and 15 healthy controls were assessed. By the Unified MSA-Rating scale and Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination-Revised, all MSA subjects were evaluated. According to the findings, decreased fractional anisotropy (FA) values in the anterior corpus callosum demonstrated a significant association with cognitive impairment in MSA.
