Cheng VCC, et al. - This study examined the role of postoutbreak environmental surveillance for guiding sustained infection control effort. Findings suggested environmental surveillance as a surrogate marker for the presence of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MRAB) carriers. To minimize the risk of MRAB outbreak, researchers suggested guiding implementation of timely infection control measures by environmental culture for MRAB.
