Findings suggested environmental surveillance as a surrogate marker for the presence of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MRAB) carriers. To minimize the risk of MRAB outbreak, researchers suggested guiding implementation of timely infection control measures by environmental culture for MRAB.
