Conjunctivochalasis and tear osmolarity are associated with reduced conjunctival epithelial thickness in dry eye

American Journal of Ophthalmology Feb 11, 2021

Gumus K, et al. - This case-control study was undertaken to determine if the ocular surface epithelial thickness is associated with tear osmolarity, conjunctivochalasis and dry eye clinical tests. The sample consisted of 50 patients with different types of dry eye disease and 15 age- and sex-matched control individuals. Findings suggested an association of conjunctivochalasis and tear osmolarity with reduced conjunctival epithelial thickness in dry eye disease.
