Comparison of volarly and dorsally displaced distal radius fracture treated by volar locking plate fixation
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery May 23, 2018
Erhart S, et al. - Authors assessed the influence of displacement direction in adult patients with surgically treated Colles or Smith type fractures. They raised and analysed standard X-rays and a clinical evaluation, as well as evaluation scores, upon follow up (FU). As per data, hint towards a mechanical inhibition in the Colles group could be given by decreased flexion in combination with a decreased dorsopalmar tilt. Good clinical outcome with a satisfactory radiological result was seen in the findings. As arthrosis progression was seen in all patients, the fracture per se was to be seen as a prearthrotic factor.
