Comparison of scrotal antegrade sclerotherapy and laparoscopic Palomo surgery in treatment of adolescent varicocele: A 15-year review
Journal of Pediatric Urology Jun 06, 2018
Hung JWS, et al. - Researchers reviewed and compared the surgical outcomes of laparoscopic Palomo surgery and scrotal antegrade sclerotherapy in the treatment of adolescent varicocele. Findings suggested that for treatment of adolescent varicocele, both scrotal antegrade sclerotherapy (SAS) and laparoscopic Palomo surgery (LPS) were safe procedures with similar clinical recurrence rate within 1 year. The rate of post-operative hydrocele was significantly lower with SAS. In the LPS group, no conversion to open procedure was seen and there were no perioperative complications.
