Comparison of postoperative outcomes between primary MIS TLIF and MIS TLIF with revision decompression
Spine Dec 22, 2018
Khechen B, et al. - In this retrospective cohort investigators analyzed 52 case to compare postoperative changes in surgical and patient-reported results (PROs) between subjects undergoing minimally invasive laminectomy and minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS TLIF) as a prime procedure to cases undergoing MIS laminectomy and TLIF as a revision to primary lumbar decompression (LD). They validated that subjects undergoing primary MIS TLIF with LD as a review to a primary decompression experienced similar postoperative developments in PROs as compared to primary MIS TLIF cases indicating that a primary decompression didn't compromise the clinical consequences in cases undergoing MIS TLIF.
