Atallah E, Logan B, Chen M, et al. - In this prospective observational study, data on people aged 65 years or older were prospectively obtained and their outcomes compared with people aged 55 to 64 years that involved 1,280 people with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) who underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT), experts contrasted the outcomes of people aged 55 to 64 years vs aged 65 years or older who met those criteria, to efficiently give coverage by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for HCT for MDS. In contrast with younger people, elderly people with MDS who underwent HCT had comparably OS. Thus, on the basis of the current data, coverage of HCT for MDS by the CMS was suggestive.
