Lipids in Health and Disease Jun 06, 2019
Wang X, et al. – Via conducting this retrospective study, compared long-term prognosis between patients with and without familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) after a coronary event. Specifically, they compared baseline characteristics, coronary angiographic findings, and prognosis among patients with or without FH. In younger patients, FH was found out to be an independent risk factor for major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events post-coronary episodes during long-term follow-up. The authors emphasized the need to improve lipid treatment for patients with FH following a coronary event.
