Arora S, et al. – The goal of this study was to compare in–hospital outcomes and readmission rates in acute pulmonary embolism (PE) patients who received systemic thrombolytics vs. catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT). Findings demonstrated that in these patients, CDT versus systemic thrombolytics offered significantly lower in hospital mortality, as well as bleeding during primary admission. In addition, a significant decrease in rate of readmissions was noted amongst patients receiving CDT compare to systemic thrombolytics.
