Comparison of combined anterior–posterior approach vs posterior-only approach in neuromuscular scoliosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis
European Spine Journal Jul 26, 2018
Shao ZX, et al. - Researchers compared the posterior-only approach (POA) with anterior–posterior approach (APA) parameters in the treatment of neuromuscular scoliosis (NS). Findings suggested the similarity of POA to APA in the correction of scoliosis in coronal and sagittal planes. Nonetheless, they noted an advantage of APA in the correction of pelvic obliquity and decreasing the loss of angle between postoperation and follow-up in main scoliosis, whereas, advantages of POA were noted in operative time, blood loss, duration of hospital stay and complications.
