Comparison of ablation outcomes of the second ablation procedure for recurrent atrial fibrillation using an ultra-high-resolution mapping system and conventional mappings system
Clinical Cardiology Aug 19, 2019
Masuda M, Asai M, Iida O, et al. - Among consecutive patients who underwent second atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation procedure using an ultra-high-resolution electroanatomical mapping system (UHR-EAM, Rhythmia) (n = 103) and a conventional electroanatomical mapping system (C-EAM, CARTO3) (n = 153), researchers compared outcomes in order to assess the utility of UHR-EAM for repeat AF ablation in this observational study. In 196 patients who had ≥ 1 left atrial-pulmonary vein (PV) reconnection, the re-isolation of PVs was achieved. The findings of this study revealed comparable efficacy and safety outcomes between UHR-EAM and C-EAM when used for repeat AF ablation.
