Sullivan SD, et al. - In a real-world study involving insulin-naïve adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D), researchers compared glycemic control, hypoglycemia, and treatment discontinuation of insulin glargine 300 units/mL (Gla-300) with insulin degludec (IDeg). Between March 2015 and September 2017, insulin-naïve adults with T2D who began Gla-300 or IDeg were identified. According to findings, the initiation of Gla-300 or IDeg led to comparable improvements in glycemic control and similar rates of hypoglycemia among real-world insulin-naïve adults with T2D. These real-world data complement and validate a randomized trial and other real-world studies.
