Clinical characteristics of imported cases of COVID-19 in Jiangsu province: A multicenter descriptive study
Clinical Infectious Diseases Mar 07, 2020
Wu J, Liu J, Zhao X, et al. - Researchers sought to report the clinical characteristics of imported coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) via retrospectively investigating the clinical, imaging, and laboratory characteristics of confirmed cases of COVID-19 with WHO interim guidance in three Grade ⅢA hospitals of Jiangsu from Jan 22 to Feb 14, 2020. They identified 80 patients infected with COVID-19 (41 female; median age: 46.1 years). Compared with the cases in Wuhan, mild or moderate symptoms were recorded in cases in Jiangsu with no obvious gender susceptivity. A relatively lower proportion of patients were reported having liver dysfunction and abnormal CT imaging than that of Wuhan. Notably, two consecutively negative respiratory pathogenic nucleic acid test results may lead to the false exclusion of infected patients.
