Cholesterol variability and the risk of mortality, myocardial infarction, and stroke: A nationwide population-based study
European Heart Journal Nov 06, 2017
Kim MK, et al. - Researchers intended to investigate if a high visit-to-visit variability in cholesterol levels serves as an independent predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events in the general population. For this purpose, they explored the links between total cholesterol (TC) variability and the risk of all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction (MI), and stroke. Findings demonstrated that high variability in lipid levels was related to adverse health-related outcomes. These results indicate that lipid variability represents a crucial risk factor in the general population.
