Changes in parameters of right ventricular function with cardiac resynchronization therapy
Clinical Cardiology | Sep 15, 2017
Sharma A, et al. - This study hypothesized that cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) does not lead to improvement in right ventricle (RV) function independent of baseline clinical variables in patients with heart failure (HF) and analyzed the relevant published data. Findings demonstrated that CRT statistically significantly improved tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE), RV basal strain, RV fractional area, RV long axis and short axis. This effect was not independent of baseline clinical variables but was statistically dependent on age, QRS duration and baseline left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).
