Changes in choroidal thickness following trabeculectomy and its correlation with the decline in intraocular pressure

Silva D, et al. - Authors assessed if there were significant changes in choroidal thickness after trabeculectomy, and how they relate to the decline in intraocular pressure. After trabeculectomy, the choroidal thickness appeared to increase temporarily and these changes were not associated with the decline in intraocular pressure. The largest increase in the choroidal thickness was found at the fovea. As per data, 1 day and 1 week after surgery in the foveal and temporal locations and 1 week postoperatively on the nasal location, the increase in choroidal thickness was significant.
