Cesarean scar pregnancy, incidence, and recurrence: Five-year experience at a single tertiary care referral center
Obstetrics and Gynecology Oct 29, 2018
Grechukhina O, et al. - Researchers analyzed a case series of all cesarean scar pregnancies diagnosed from May 2013 to March 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital to delineate the treatment and subsequent pregnancy outcomes in patients with cesarean scar pregnancies. They identified 30 cases of cesarean scar pregnancies diagnosed in 26 patients, including 1 recurrence in 1 patient and 3 recurrences in another. Findings revealed a wide array of treatment modalities for cesarean scar pregnancies. Despite having a possibility for the occurrence of normal pregnancy, women with a cesarean scar pregnancy may be at risk for its recurrence in the future. Timely diagnosis and multidisciplinary care by skilled clinicians may lead to safe outcomes.
