Dong H, et al. - This inquiry was set up to evaluate 1-year outcomes and influencing factors of carotid artery stenting (CAS) before open heart surgery (OHS). One-year follow up results suggested the efficacy as well as safety of CAS followed by OHS in patients with concomitant carotid and cardiac disease. The interval between CAS and OHS, congestive heart failure, and renal insufficiency could obviously influence the 1-year results.
