Blood pressure variability and hemorrhagic transformation in patients with successful recanalization after endovascular recanalization therapy: A retrospective observational study
Annals of Neurology Apr 14, 2019
Kim TJ, et al. - In this investigation , researchers examined the connection between blood pressure (BP) variability and symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) after successful recanalization with endovascular recanalization therapy (ERT). Between January 2013 and May 2017, there were 211 patients with acute ischemic stroke and successful recanalization (thrombolysis in cerebral infarction 2b or 3) after ERT. According to this retrospective observational study, time-related BP variability was more correlated with sICH than other absolute BP levels in the first 24 hours after successful ERT. Findings suggested that maintaining a stable BP after successful ERT could be a significant factor in preventing sICH.
