Biomarkers of neovascular activity in age-related macular degeneration using optical coherence tomography angiography
Retina Feb 02, 2018
Al-Sheikh M, et al. - In this research, features of choroidal neovascular (NV) membranes were studied qualitatively and quantitatively in age-related macular degeneration using optical coherence tomography (OCT) angiography in the individuals having active and quiescent NV lesions before and after treatment with anti–vascular endothelial growth factor. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of NV lesions could be done by optical coherence tomography angiography which was a new, noninvasive imaging modality. In the future, OCT angiography may provide biomarkers of activity and lead to the evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of neovascularization in age-related macular degeneration.
