Beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors are associated with improved survival secondary to ventricular tachyarrhythmia

Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy Aug 08, 2018

Schupp T, et al. - A large retrospective registry including patients presenting with ventricular tachyarrhythmia and fibrillation from 2002 to 2016 was used to assess secondary survival in these patients and how it is impacted by treatment with a beta-blocker (BB) or ACE inhibitor/angiotensin receptor blocker (ACEi/ARB). As per findings, both BB and ACEi/ARB result in improved secondary survival in these patients surviving ventricular tachyarrhythmia on admission and were comparable regarding the prognostic benefit.
