Magadmi RM, et al. - To end the COVID-19 pandemic, developing a vaccine is considered a key strategy. Researchers herein investigated the beliefs and barriers linked with COVID-19 vaccination among the Saudi population using an online self-administered questionnaire. A total of 3,101 individuals participated in this study; 44.7% of these individuals expressed their acceptance for COVID-19 vaccination if available, whereas 55.3% admitted hesitancy. Acceptance for taking the vaccine was more frequently expressed by those who were younger, male, received seasonal influenza vaccine. Concerns about side effects were identified as the key barrier for vaccine acceptance. In addition, the vaccine may be accepted by the majority of refusers if additional studies verified safety and effectiveness.
