Baseline fragmented QRS is associated with increased all-cause mortality in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology Mar 18, 2019
Kanitsoraphan C, et al. - In heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), researchers examined the link between baseline fragmented (fQRS) and all-cause mortality in this systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 relevant studies from 2010 to 2017. They included studies of HFrEF that assessed fQRS and outcome of all-cause mortality and major arrhythmic event (sudden cardiac death, sudden cardiac arrest, ventricular fibrillation, or sustained ventricular tachycardia), identified via a comprehensive search in the databases of MEDLINE and EMBASE from inception to February 2018. In HFrEF patients, baseline fQRS was found to be related to increased all-cause mortality up to 1.63-fold. Clinical outcome in these patients could be predicted by fQRS.
