Dental Traumatology Jan 08, 2019

Primo-Miranda E, et al. - Investigators evaluated 200 children from 3-5 years of age in the city of Diamantina, Brazil to estimate the correlation of occlusal features on the occurrence of dental trauma in preschool kids. Maxillary anterior crowding and overjet were found linked with the incident of trauma independent of the confounding constituents like sociodemographic characteristics, sucking habits and lip coverage. They observed a strong association of anterior open bite with dental trauma, irrespective of confounding variables and other types of malocclusion.
