Association of ambulatory hemodynamic monitoring with clinical outcomes in a concurrent matched control analysis
JAMA May 22, 2019
Abraham J, et al. - In this investigation involving 1,087 patients receiving implantable pulmonary artery pressure sensors and 1,087 matched control patients, researchers explored the link between ambulatory hemodynamic monitoring and rates of heart failure (HF) hospitalization at 12 months in clinical practice. According to this case-control study, lower HF hospitalization rates were seen with HF patients implanted with a pulmonary artery pressure sensor vs matched controls, and they spent more time out of the hospital alive. In patients with chronic HF, ambulatory hemodynamic monitoring may improve outcomes.
