Association between laboratory parameters and CT severity in patients infected with Covid-19: A retrospective, observational study
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Jan 24, 2021
Yilmaz A, Sabirli R, Seyit M, et al. - The clinical, laboratory and radiological features of the cases diagnosed with COVID-19 are reported via performing a single-center, retrospective, descriptive, and observational study. Researchers included 130 (73 male and 57 female) patients with COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) positive test in the study. The CT-positive group exhibited high serum ferritin and D-dimer levels and their moderate positive correlation with CT severity. Hence, it has been argued that consideration can be given to D-dimer and ferritin levels measured at the time of admission to the ED to predict radiological severity.
