Assessment of association between spino-pelvic parameters and outcomes following gluteus medius repair
Arthroscopy Mar 17, 2019
Saltzman BM, et al. - Investigators assessed 47 individuals to study postoperative coronal/sagittal spinal plane and spinopelvic parameters in subjects experiencing gluteus medius repair and also to recognize the correlations between consequences and these spinopelvic variables. They observed significant developments in all patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and pain at an average of 28.2 ± 7.8 months after surgery. Candidates with a positive sagittal vertical axis (SVA) (>0 cm) were reported with significantly worse PROs as compared to their counterparts with negative (≤0 cm) SVA. Overall, they implied lower rates of symptom improvement among scoliosis cases and ability to return to an active lifestyle in participants with hip disorders. They demonstrated positive sagittal plane deformity cases with lower hip-related sport-specific outcome scores.
