Assessing the impact of transcatheter aortic valve implantation on cardiac catheterisation: A multicentric study
Heart, Lung, and Circulation Apr 05, 2021
Lim Y, Gochuico CFS, D’Ascenzo F, et al. - Researchers undertook this international multicentric retrospective cohort study to determine coronary angiography (CA) difficulty, results, as well as predictors of difficult CA post-transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). This analysis involved patients with TAVI and subsequent CA between January 2010 and December 2019. Experts found that post-TAVI, there was a high CA success rate, more difficult was right CA compared with left, a predisposition to difficult CA was conferred by self-expanding valves, and Society of Thoracic Surgery score was identified as a weak predictor of difficult CA. This work is hypothesis-generating.
