Grigg MJ, et al. – This study compared the effectiveness of artemether–lumefantrine (AL) with chloroquine for the treatment of uncomplicated knowlesi malaria. AL showed high efficacy as well as excellent tolerability and rapid therapeutic response resulting in earlier hospital discharge. AL was supported to be used as a first–line artemisinin–combination treatment policy for all Plasmodium species in Malaysia.
