Analysis of OPD-Scan and Pentacam parameters for early keratoconus detection
American Journal of Ophthalmology Feb 04, 2021
Donoso R, Rodríguez A, Esteffan K, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective case-control study to assess Pentacam and OPD-Scan parameters in the early detection of keratoconus. Case group involved 50 clinically unaffected fellow eyes diagnosed with asymmetric keratoconus displaying subtle qualitative changes at the 0.5D sensitivity OPD-Scan scale, as well as normal anterior and back elevation difference map at Belin/Ambrósio enhanced ectasia display at the Pentacam. In order to distinguish cases from normal control eyes, several OPD-Scan and Pentacam parameters can be useful, showing even better results when combining parameters of both devices. The most important parameters to distinguish both groups were anterior corneal indexes.
