An exploration of the association between ischemic etiology and the likelihood of heart failure hospitalization following cardiac resynchronization therapy
Clinical Cardiology Sep 08, 2017
Powell AC, et al. - This study estimated the likelihood of heart failure (HF) hospital admissions in the year before and after implantation of multi-lead cardioverter-defibrillators for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT-D), presuming that ischemic CRT-D recipients respond as well as nonischemic recipients. Nonischemic etiology was found to be associated with a significantly less likelihood of experiencing an HF admission after CRT-D but CRT-D significantly improved the risk of HF admission in all groups.
