A study on fracture lines of the quadrilateral plate based on fracture mapping
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Sep 20, 2019
Yang Y, et al. - Via retrospectively analyzing CT data from a series of acetabular fractures, researchers investigated the fracture lines of the quadrilateral plate and relevant clinical significance. A total of 208 patients fulfilled the requirements for incorporation. Data reported that the fracture lines of the three types of acetabular fractures (double-column fracture, T-type fracture, and anterior column with posterior hemitransverse fracture) mainly involved upper transverse lines and upper oblique lines. Findings revealed that the fracture lines of different types of acetabular fractures have certain regularity respectively. Observing the fracture lines of the quadrilateral plate based on fracture mapping can assist orthopedic surgeons to improve their knowledge of the Judet-Letournel classification, which may have some important advice on the selection of the operation method and the design of internal fixation devices.
