A risk score to predict postdischarge bleeding among acute coronary syndrome patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: BRIC-ACS study
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions May 28, 2019
Chen Y, et al. - In this study including 2496 acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) at 29 nationally representative Chinese tertiary hospitals, researchers assessed how major cardiovascular event (MACE) occurrence was influenced by postdischarge bleeding (PDB). They also developed a score to predict PDB risk. According to the findings, a higher risk for MACE post-PCI was observed in relation to PDB with bleeding academic research consortium type ≥2 among Chinese ACS patients. In this study, the constructed bleeding risk in real world Chinese acute coronary syndrome patients (BRIC-ACS) score for PDB was established, on the basis of identified PDB predictors. For PDB discrimination, especially among high ischemic and bleeding risk patients, the BRIC-ACS risk score was suggested to have utility.
